Why does my wired internet spontaneously disconnect?
Andrew Henderson
Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. To preface, I should mention that I am using a WiFi router as a repeater node for my local network. Previously this setup worked 100% without issue with its placement and cords with my old computer setup running Win10. I've checked it also alongside this issue to make sure its not the source of the problem (directly, anyway) and I can connect to it using any other device just fine.
Internet will cut out on Ubuntu. Random times, almost always in the middle of my doing some kind of task. Not easy to pinpoint when it keeps disconnecting, but resetting the Network Service via sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager.service will enable it again within seconds. Most, if not all, errors and questions asked I keep finding relate to WiFi issues and drivers relating to it. All my packages are up-to-date, I have no idea what driver I should even investigate for this issue, or if the driver could be even related to the cause. I've only ever previously dabbled with Linux, and this is using it as a desktop OS in full.
I need stable internet for my job, any ideas?
Edit:
As per @waltinator's suggestion, I checked the network journal. Unfortunately, I can't make out much of this, but I grabbed a section of the log that may be relevant. Its around the time of one instance of the internet blipping in/out.

Edit 2:
I grabbed a log around the time it happened with more verbose log data. Is this something to do with the IP leasing of my router?
