How to turn on AMD Turbo Core for AMD A6 6310 on Linux?

Writer Matthew Barrera

I use Lubuntu 15.04 I've noticed that my processor (AMD A6 6310) works at 1800 MHz frequency and not more, while AMD promised 2,4 GHz with Turbo Core option.

How to enable Turbo Core option?

The availability of Turbo Core depends on your GPU driver (radeon, fglrx). But even if Turbo Core works, you will not see any indication for this unless you do a modprobe msr.
