How do I fix DRASTIC performance difference in Civ 6 Singleplayer vs Multiplayer

Writer Sophia Terry

I get INSANELY different performance in civ 6 between multiplayer and single player, which doesn't make any sense to me. I can max things out in single player and have a buttery smooth experience, but even the minimum settings in multiplayer are unplayable. I honestly have no idea how to approach this because I've never had a problem like this before. Any and all help would be appreciated!
