Create /etc/apt/apt.conf to add proxy configuration for APT.

sudo nano /etc/apt/apt.conf

Add this line to your /etc/apt/apt.conf file

Acquire::http::Proxy "";

Save it with Ctrl+X, Y and retry:

sudo apt-get update
