dual-boot; 22.04, W10; broke after W10 auto update; No grub menu; boot_repair log
Andrew Mclaughlin
Link is the boot_repair log that completed w/ success but still no ubuntu I believe my issues are related to:
- running BIOS booter (old satellite laptop)
- a windows auto update broke the grub menu A recent update to 22.04 seemed fine; both W10 and Ubuntu working
Now able to run Ubuntu off USBstick and do diags and try repairs
New partition sda8 is my clumsy attempt at creating a needed new boot partition
After running boot_repair, I still only get W10 as bios option, and no grub menu at startup
It would be a VERY good learning experience for me if someone diagnoses the problem and solution and references the line #'s in the boot_repair log (link above) that are the key details identifying the problems. Thanks in advance - Terry
